I have not been long in Perth and have at last found somewhere permanent to live after bunking down with friends & rellies. I am interested in joining a theatre group south of the river. Can anyone recommend a group to me? I'm living in a suburb called Willagee at the moment, still finding my around this city, would appreciate some guidance, Cheers

Close to you

Melville Theatre is right next door.

The Old Mill Theatre is just across the way in South Perth.

There is also Femantle's Harbour Theatre.

That should get you started...

Willage is located in the

Willage is located in the City of Melville, so Melville Theatre would be your best bet: http://www.meltheco.org.au/ Other theatre groups not too far away would include the Old Mill Theatre (http://www.oldmilltheatre.com.au) in South Perth and Harbour Theatre (http://www.geocities.com/harbour_theatre/) in Fremantle.

New to Perth - American Plan at Melville

Thank's for the tips. I have been out and about this past weekend (see my review of "Inishmore" at WAAPA.) Swung by Melville Theatre, just down the road from me YAY. Saw the banner for their next production "The American Plan". Saw this play a couple of years ago in NY. This is an amazing play and I am looking forward to seeing this production. I would encourage you Perth theatre people to check it out. I am impressed that Melville tackle contemporary works, will join up soon but can't make the 1 act auditions, will be in Eastern States during performance dates-but appreciate the feedback on my initial question. Can't wait to get involved.
