Shakespeare and other play readings

I think that it would be nice to have organised or 'drop in' readings from Shakespeare's plays. It would be a great way to learn or keep toned up and in touch without spending heaps on classes. Maybe a theatre group might want to establish something in conjunction with what they already do? It might supply them with a ready stable of actors too. Just a small fee from the readers might keep it going. If anyone knows of a similar thing operating now, I would love to know where.

There is an informal group,

There is an informal group, but you would need to catch the Indian-Pacific to be part of it. www.meltheco.org.au

WA Shakespeare Readings

We've been doing these on and off for almost a year now. We've taken a break but simply because we're actually bringing a production (highlights if you will) of Shakespeare to the stage (it's more complicated than that but that's the drift generally) but we'll be recommencing at some stage I have no doubt. Contact me for details in need and I'll pass them on. More Shakespeare coming to you in July and thereafter

Thanks

Unfortunately, I live in Sydney and can't take advantage. It sounds like you've got a good thing going. This is the first time that I've posted a comment and I'm pleased to get a reply so soon. Thanks and all the best with your projects, Geoff

Shakespeare Readings

The Qld Shakespeare Ensemble have open play readings once a month. They are pretty low key and happen in a meeting room at a local library. The only organisation needed is somewhere to hold them and a few copies ofthe play. Could be a great way to start building another network of Actors to play with.
