...GARDEN???!?!

Not that I want to admid to being at home on a Friday night, watching Burke's Backyard followed by a stint on the Internerd, but by God, what a good idea that was...

Immediately after a fairly dull segment on Russian Blue cats and a no-bake cheesecake, the Don himself announced a recent letter from a Jenny McCann of Lesmurdie, Western Australia, and a moment later, my screen was emblazoned with Perth Community Theatre's Glamour Family: The McCanns (bald head and baby included)!

Gee, I wonder why it wasn't mentioned on this website? Could it be that they were afraid of clogging up Welshpool Road with desparate actors on a mass exodous to Lesmurdie in a desparate attempt at self-promotion?

And how much did Elliot pay Don for the 'women around Australia are gasping' comment?

But most blatantly absent was a plug for Wolf Lullaby! I'm sure one of you could have improvised a production tee-shirt, cap or coffee mug for the occasion.

By the way, Elliot, I have this weed problem I'd like you to look at, but I'll suffice for the manly roars instead...

PS I think the show will be re-run Saturday 1 September on Channel 9 at 4:30 or so (but check your local guide for details).

Once again, the McCann magic has worked.
Last week, Burke's Backside was the 8th most watched program on Perth TV - a position much higher than it usually achieves (source: OzTAM).
Perhaps advertising should mention that El and Junior will be at the box office each night of Wolf Lullaby to ensure the full impact of the families crowd-pulling ability can be harnessed.
