Where can I find out about PD opportunities?

I always seem to hear about professional development opportunities (for directors, actors, techies and administrators) after they've happened! Can anyone suggest organisations, mailing lists, etc. that I could sign up to in order to hear about them earlier? [I am mainly looking for opportunities in Canberra and Sydney, but Melbourne lists would be useful too]
