Something I read in today's West Australian which tickled me...

Supposedly in Korea they have found a way to both minimise "wrong doers" and the make good use of Paparazzi - Pay the Paparazzi to take snaps of "wrong doers".

Just when you thought is was safe to do a little shop-lifting...

Just make sure no-one has their mobile phone whe you do.

Right, I'm done.

Jeff.

This has been done in Asia

This has been done in Asia for ages; for lesser offences, the use of 'shame' is imposed as a way of both atoning for the offence and prevention of further crimes. Since the concept of honour is important in most Asian cultures, it's supposed to be very effective in prevention (or at least that's what I learned in sociology 101 at uni). Actually it's kind of like taking your kid to the store owner to apologise for stealing the stick of gum; only only a larger scale. Seahorse shadow puppet for sale at Puppets in Melbourne

Photo

I was more tickled by the specific use of the Paparazzi. I know of many shops around Perth that use the Photo-of-shame technique, but it is usually Security Cameras.

I remember Grant posting

I remember Grant posting something about Mac users having just that problem. To do with Safari. Try using Firefox instead. That solved my problem when I was using my Mac. Hope it works for you. Regards, Sue.
