Hi, I'm a 23 yr old amateur actress and have been looking at this sight for many months now. I feel somewhat frustrated and would love any suggestions as of what to do.
Can't seem to find any plays or films to audition for as most of them are musicals (can't sing). When I do find something interesting I don't seem to be able to get hold of the script.
I'm very keen to get some more experience, I'm passionate and my time is very felixible. If anyone has some 'words of wisdom' they would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Jade

RE: Help finding scripts and roles(vic)

Hi Jade,
I suggest go go for ANY auditions that are held in your area. Don't let the fact that you can't sing put you off. Many plays including musicals, need non-singing cast as well as singers. Obviously if you are going for a lead part in a musical, then a good voice is a must. The next time you see a play or whatever, just go for it. If nothing else, you will get the feel for the audition process, and get to talk to some other hopefulls. Take it from there.
Knock 'em dead!
