"State Theatre Centre of
"State Theatre Centre of Western Australia"?? What an unwieldy title. The word "State" is completely redundant, and "Theatre Centre" just sounds strange.
Whatever happened to "WA Performing Arts Centre"?
Ah well, soon we'll just be calling it the STC, which I suppose is ok...

THEATRE CENTRE
I agree with Louisa Harding but the down-grading of the Ledger appellation, while still disappointing, is at least better than nothing.Now, what about the naming of foyers, studios, etc?

STC = Some Thing Common
The STC is the Sydney Theatre Company,
STC is also how many of us still refer to the Subiaco Theatre Centre. (Although that now tries to go by SAC for Subi Arts Centre).
So now the theatre industry in Perth has a chance to get confused on both a local and national level.
Cheers,
Craig

MTC
.....and if you look at my bio, you'll see I do a lot of stuff with MTC, Melville Theatre Company, but those initials would bring to mind a different company for those from the east, no doubt.
