Drama School Auditions - Time to change?
Mon, 10 Nov 2008, 09:46 amOkay, so this is a bit random, but I'm doing drama school auditions for the first time - VCA, NIDA SDA, Ballarat and Box Hill MT, and I was just wondering if there was time at the auditions to change into dance stuff, or do you need to come in dance gear and do the singing and acting in your dance stuff as well?
Thanks in advance,
Tricki :)

I don't know, but generally
I don't know, but generally at all these auditions they ask you to come in comfortable clothes. My advice is to go already dressed in something for dance; trust me, being pre-prepared is more impressive to lecturers than running off to the bathrooms while everyone else is busy warming up and waiting for you to come back. (Chookas for the auditions by the way!)

I can't speak for the
I can't speak for the Institutes you are auditioning for, but at WAAPA for Music Theatre, your dance call back is at a separate time. They hold initial vocal/monologue auditions with 2 people on the panel, then you have a call back for vocal/monologue with more people on the panel, then you get a final call for dance. So it's possible they may work the same way.
Is there anyone who has auditioned for these courses that can shed some light on the subject?
CHOOKAS!

well i know from
well i know from experience, as im sure the op knows by now, that the vca dance call back is at a seperate time to the acting/singing audition, held at the end of the day.
and as the first post said, the waapa callback is at a later point in time.
does anyone know about ballarat though ??

Gorgeous and Comfy
Be gorgeous it is your first impression that counts. Wear really comfy shoes though, so important to have your balance right when singing and acting, and wear something that is you. You will get to change for dance.
When we're famous we can look like we don't care... if you get my drift.
Make the effort you'll feel fab as well.

Thank you all for the
Thank you all for the help.
Belated, but Ballarat only has the singing/acting audition on the first day, and workshoppihg {Dancing etc} is at callbacks.
Hope that was/will be of some use to someone someday :P
