Hi there, Im currently looking for as many oppurtunities as possible to take up for 2009, as I'm just out of school and want to start building a career for myself in acting, for both screen and theatre. Im auditioning for frog management (I was previously with Actors Management but have decided to change), missed out on the Black Swan hotbed auditions due to being 14 days too young at the time of auditions (phooey!!!), am considering Pac screen workshops, will be auditioning for local theatre, and once 18 the Black Swan theatre company itself. I also attend lessons with James Hagan (perth people may know him). Im just wondering if anyone else knows something they would really recommend, whether it be training or a way of getting roles. Companies? Teachers? Agents? Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks. :)

Agents always want to know where you're working so community theatre has some great opportunities. Go into plays etc with the attitude of always having something to learn and practice your craft (from James etc) on the stage. You'll get a mix of experiences with some up and coming prima donnas, some quiet ex pros who have lots to offer, plus heaps of talented people who have day jobs. I made some amazing contacts thru community theatre.
