Caught out

I just followed Na's link to a FAQ she compiled for advice to newcomers, realising that I'd participated in a lot of those discussions about 4 years ago. It was an interesting read to browse through past posts (although since they were posted under an older formatting I found it a bit hard to follow the 'tree' of who replied to who). Something odd caught my eye... The forum was at http://www.theatre.asn.au/node/8701. It's such a LONG forum thread that it takes quite a while even to just scroll down through all the posts. Most of them are of the 'Hi. I'm a 13 yr old girl who wants a job acting' variety...single posts by unregistered users who never appeared again. In the blur of scrolling down, you'll frequently see my caricature icon scroll past, marking my contributions. A couple of times you'll see Grant Malcolm's photo scroll past, showing his responses. And then you'll see a guy in a red shirt named Michael. His posts are kind of bizarre. He says he's a 13 year old from Mexico, or a 13 year old from WA, and writes at about the standard of a 9 year old. But he looks like he's about 45! I think this guy was posting odd childish rubbish for the hell of it, pretending to be other personas. And then somewhere in the past four years he has become more respectable, registering a photo to link to his name. But the website has cached his old posts that were once unidentified and now added his current photo to them....he's been caught out! Be careful what you write.
