When theatre people get together we can talk for hours about the venues, old and new, actors, directors, scenery painters, stage managers and all the characters which made the business as fascinating as it is.However it is pretty much an oral tradition and would there be any support for a thread where the characters who founded this industry could be documented? A penny for your thoughts.

I wasn't going to mention

I wasn't going to mention that about the tabs Don!
Also that damned Gold House curtain, which would jump it's chain on the electric motor & jam up. Many is the time Bob Wegman or myself would dive off the lighting box platform & swing down to the stage on the main cable to raise the curtain.
I'd forgotten about the whiskey A Go Go - but what I do remember is those Spring Rolls we would get from the Chinese Palace opposite. The sports car was a bit innovative for the time & it amazed me how it was not damaged, with all the pushing & shoving to get into place.
Titan [Old Guild] was a great venue & we even had a Royal Command Performance there, well it was only for the Leftenant Governor anyway!
