Hi, I have just joined this website and would appreciate some help with some information regarding schools for my daughter who is 7 yrs old. We are planning to move to Perth from the U.K later this year, and I would like my daughter to continue with her dance/drama, which she has been doing since the age of 4. Could you please tell me if there is any schools that specialize in dance/theatre full time school. I know there are a few secondary schools that have this in their curriculum, but was wondering if there is a primary school that does this also. If not is there a primary school that is linked to a secondary school that does these subjects. many thanks Michelle

Hi Kimberley, I had problems myself when posting my first message, hence I had to do it again. I don't know what happened to my first post, but I had only just joined that day, so not sure where it went. Thank you for your note, and I look forward to your reply. Kind regards Michelle

Hi I dont think there is a primary school that does such a programme,, some schools do a dance thing, but it is for ballroom, such as juve, cha cha, etc, it is run over 1 term, and then in the fourth term, they do a inter school dance off competition. There may be some, but the ones, that i know of dont, do dance programmes, as such and kids do out of school drama clubs, and dancing schools, sorry i cant help much more, perhaps you should email the western australian education dept, they might be able to help

Hi, thanks for your advice and comments. I think you are right, I don't think there will be any type of primary school that will have this. I will however make some enquiries..with the education department. Many thanks for your reply.

Primary schools

The Ed Department wouldn't know... WA Primary schools can choose what sort of Arts they run. If they choose to employ a specialist they may choose Music, Visual Arts, Drama or Dance. Music is the most popular, followed by Vis Arts. I am told I am NOT the only Primary Arts specialist in Swan District, but nobody can tell me where the others are. The only schools I know that are teaching hybrid Music Drama are East Waikiki near Rockingham and Sawyers Valley in Perth hills. Krishell - my contact details are with the ITA contact details in the About Section on the toolbar at the top of the site. Feel free to use those to contact me. Sorry I missed your last message. Kim

Hi Krishell

Once again my reply was flagged as Spam! I will rephrase and see how we go. The ITA details are in the About section on the tool bar. If you look in there under "president" you will find me. Use that info to email me. It must sound like advertising! Kim
