RE: North of River Venues
Sharon - Have a look at Green Room Gossip Subject: Performance venues posted by Kyla Winslet in March for a 150 seat theatre. Most ? private schools North of the river have suitable theatres such as MLC, John 23, St Mary's, Hale School. If you time your show to arrive the week after an amateur production has finished you would probably have a set available or an empty stage. You might even be able to get a profit sharing deal?
Grant perhaps we can add a new menu item "Venues" with sub menus of location, state, professional and amateur with listing of facilities? I couls not see a comprehensive one amaong the other Australian theatre sites.
Regards Don

RE: North of River Venues
Hi Sharon,
Venues north of the river seem to be hard to come by or really expensive to hire. Don is right, lots of schools have venues, but some are really expensive to hire and the availability is usually very limited. If I'm not mistaken, none of the community halls along the northern Coast have stages or even lighting bars and the only theatre is Wanneroo and that is usually heavily booked. If you have the money, try phoning some of the schools NOR - in my experience though, most don't hire their theatre arts buildings, only their gyms, which have that gym atmosphere. I hope you find a venue that's suitable.
