I always think of Douglas Adams when I go to a restaurant where they have live fish in glass tanks, waiting to be chosen and eaten.
It's not often a creative mind such his comes along. The unfinished/unstarted work doesn't bear thinking about.
Did he write much for the stage?

There's something fundamentally wrong with the universe or at least your email as the question is
"What is 7 times 8 ?"
I have the script at home somewhere if someone wants to consider a stage adaptation ?????????????????

Or people may want to get along to Vagabond Theatre's production of Dirk based on Adams' Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency opening in June:

Commiserations to Jo and company. Very unfortunate timing, but i'm sure the show will prove a fitting tribute.
Cheers
