Spam-ahoy!
Mon, 30 July 2007, 10:25 amWell everyone tomorrow is the official launch of Monty Python's Spamalot in Federation Sqaure in Melbourne.
Unfortunately I won't be there (school sigh...), but I was wondering if anyone was going.
It sounds like it's going to be true Monty Python fun...with some aussie themes as well...for instance a Spam-BBQ.
I believe they are announcing the cast tomorrow...or at least some of them, and they are also having a 'grail sale' to sell tickets for one day only, before they go on sale again in September.
Python Knights (with I assume coconut clad buddies) will also be dotted around the city.
I really wish I could be there!
Anyway if someone is going, please come back after tomorrow and post a comment of what you thought, maybe a picture or two to show us the happenings.
And if they announce cast, give us a list!

Updating the above:
At 5.30pm there will be a 'live-ish' video cross to Eric Idle and an 'Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life' sing-a-long. So it sounds like the big festivities will be happening at this time now...
I wonder then if somehow I can get to the city now...

I went home via Flinders St
I went home via Flinders St Station, and just happened to get a peek of the 'event'. I use quotes because it was three very small tents (ie. could fit five people in), although one of them could have been a caravan/counter. They had some spam signage, and what looked like a spam giveaway.
Unfortunately, I didn't see much else. - They were outside Transport, facing Flinders Station.

Casti announcements have
Cast announcements have been made including Billie Brown as King Arthur and Lucinda Shaw as The Lady Of The Lake.
Which puts an ends to rumours of Geoffrey Rush and Gina Riley in those roles...
Seeeee rumours aren't good to go by.

Most of the 'performance'
Most of the 'performance' stuff apparently happened inside at the BMW edge facility. It was their that the video cross was going to happen and the rendition of 'Always Look On The bight Side of Life'.
That's what I heard and read anyway. Unfortunately the web cams on the Fed Square site wouldn't work.
Thanks for taking a peek though Na :)

No worries - only wish I
No worries - only wish I had the time to stop properly and check it out. (Although BMW Edge gives me the creeps, thanks to spending several days doing bump in there in 2003)
