I do not wish - in making this single post on the subject - to make those who have commended my silence look foolish, but I would like to make this one contribution:
It is simply a "thank you" to thank all of those people who have written such kind and flattering words in my defence.
It was much appreciated, and (it needs to be said) humbling.
