Wed, 4 Apr 2001, 05:05 pmI have three one-act comedy scripts that I wrote several years ago and that have largely sat on the shelf, mainly, I believe, through my lack of promotion rather than their lack of potential.
Two were produced and well received at drama festivals in Perth and Bunbury and won awards for scriptwriting and actors' comic performances.
One concerns the misfortunes of a country WA football club that is suffering from the slow death of a farming community in the grip of a long drought. The second is about four young new-age apartment sharers, one of whom wishes to have a baby but not a husband or partner for longer than it takes. Then the plumber arrives. The third piece is set in a morgue where a young shy guy is spending his first night as an attendant. All is okay until the latest resident comes to life - or does she ?
