Timely notice from Black Swan, given the recent discussion here of the perception of relatively few opportunities for young people:

"The program this year will include a series of workshops and a major production in September."

i wonder whether anyone at Black Swan for a moment considered a co-operative venture with the existing ITA Youth DramaFest which saw more than a half dozen performances by companies of young people in September last year. Anyone care to dash off an email or phone call to them?

"Don't miss the X-Theatre, the opportunity is out there!"

Community theatres will continue to provide opportunities for young people long after the funding for X-Theatre dries up. I should think that linking the two may prove vital.

Project director, Luke Cowling, said "This generation is certainly a product of television and the Internet and I am starting to see more of that influence in new works."

Hands up all the young people who saw the notice on Black Swan's website?

Hey, Luke! What about putting some information here where people will actually see it?

Cheers
Grant

On the subject of youthfest/dramafest, I was wondering what age classifies as "youth", (and when the cutoff is).

thanks,
Rebecca
