RE: Spectrum visit

Damn I hate that! You look up a website posting expecting great news of a forthcoming concert where you and your old-fart mates can all sing along with "I'll Be Gone" ( Someday I'll have money, Money isn't easy come by.........) and what do you get? A reminder of how out of touch you are.

RE: Spectrum visit

We found a little theatre with a big heats and asperations.

Everone there was more than you would like to have expected, except Albany Motels (2001 tourist town of the year) which all closed at 9pm, and got rather upset when bonifde travelers conteated them about accomodation (this was no one fault about the mix up in a place to stay - just a little hich up - which the weekend well tuely made up for) - The only motel manager prepared to get up and let us in was Neil from the BANSHIA GARDENS RESORT ALBANY HIGHWAY, who thought it was part of his job and why he was in hospitaly to be there to give service - he must be new to the area?

Anyway enough of the negatives - Both Denmark and Port (light Opera) theatre's had representatives, who seemed to have gained and "I hope" found thier weekend not wasted.

Although they are remote and have an axe hanging over the theatre's future, mainly because UWA has teken over the building above and now along side - exspantionism seems to have set in, especaily as they want to use thier facilities as well (the LOO's).
There again this may be only a rumble in the jungle, but after the theatre has served the community very well over the last 20 years it would gaint loss for the town and all concerned.

Man the baricades guys and run up the flag - you could be "in for a bumpy" fight. Best of luck - Your theatre will always win in the end!!!!

Chookas

Joe

RE: Spectrum visit

What a great weekend we all had, apart from the mandatory stuff ups. A pity we didn't have a better turn out, but their loss. I have just become a "WARM PROP" after working back stage. I feel I can be a better "WARM PROP" now that I have a greater understanding of what is actually happening all around. I will definitely try to "hear the light and see the sound". The bottle may need rubbing a little more to let the genie out but hopefully it will be released and shine. Thanks to you all for a fabulous weekend, hence the whole set for "Kindly Keep It Covered" has come down, was a little tricky at rehearsals last night and one "WARM PROP" was more than awkward. Guess that is acting, to create the image in your mind and let your imagination take over. What with no flats, doors, entrances or exits (as yet) but we have a frame and a great set plan to work from. We have heard no more on our 'TAKE OVER THE LOOS BID" but will keep you posted. I mean who will buy the toilet rolls???? Once again thanks ever so and all who attended would love to see you all again, and we will visit when next in Perth.

All the best.

RE: Spectrum visit

Hi Sheelagh

Bottles? Genies? Loos? Rubbing? Toilet rolls? and keeping IT covered?

I'm not sure i want guess at precisely what you've been up to down there, but it sounds very theatrical!

I hope you'll keep us all informed about coming events at Spectrum. I know i'll be heading down that way after easter.

Cheers
Grant

RE: Spectrum visit

I see Sheelagh did not mention the "THWACKING", I thought, at the time upon initiation in "T.I.T's", some of them did find that exciting???

I was also disapionted no one asked about the 'Star Logo' - aah well maybe next time.

RE: Spectrum visit

Rest assured there is plenty of "THWACKING" going on. And with regards to the STAR, we thought it was you guys. But, please tell what did it mean? I mean could one of us have had 5 stars, a little bit like the accommodation down this way. And to Grant, feel free to come down and see all the goings on, our dress rehearsal (well for some of us) is on the 16/04/01 and the production starts on the 19th. We will try and 'KINDLY KEEP EVERYTHING COVERED".

Cheers for now.

RE: Spectrum visit

We don't even rate being dots - never flaming stars.

As I explained, with your production team, acknowledge the characteristics of each individual and enhance your endeavous by utalising them - hence round, square, triangle and star.

Hang on - this will be giving the game away - I should learn to "sing-dumb" more often or as most always tell me "all the time".
So for those who attended the workshop and had chosen a star logo - I will contact them direct, if I get the chance?

RE: Spectrum visit

Joe's Thwackers were originally manufactured, ( his patent as an attatchment to bedposts ) for those into bondage. The prerequisite that they be made from rubber caused him no end of bother as on removal trialists became entangled or flung at great force across the room causing much damage. The dowel didn't help matters as it usually ended up in the most unfortunate of places. I just thought you would like to know their original purpose as Joe was too embarrassed to mention it.

RE: Spectrum visit

I thought so, I forgot to mention that he taught us how to tie certain knots as well. The mind boggles, he had us tying up each other as well!!!!!!!!!

Bi for now

RE: Spectrum visit

Speaking of which Joe, I was the one who was convinced to get naked. Therefore it only follows that I get the rights.

Yours nakedly,

Richard Peterson.
