Just putting it out there for feedback on the issue of subscribing to online resources for actors e.g Quiet on Set; Screen Faces. I am particularly interested to find out if their casting notices are reputable or not. Are they a worthy investment? What others, if any, are good to check out? I greatly value any insights!!!

QuietOnset are trending

QuietOnset are trending more towards film and TV adverts, but are a good resource for ads. Screen Faces I don't know. My suggestion is; if they have a trial period, then pay the money, sign up, and if you don't like it at the end of the trial period, then unsign. I know Arts Hub have something like a 10 day cooling off period (don't quote me on that). If you're not wanting to pay, there are other ways of getting some of the information, such as looking for jobs yourself (through website adverts on the company's own sites) or signing up for any of the multitude of free listings. Theatre Aus obviously has a lot of ads, plus there's plenty of Yahoo groups and other such collectives. And you can sign up for The Prompt Copy ( ;) ) Many companies also have their own newsletters. But yes, these sorts of sites have a lot of good advertisements. You have to remember that 'reputable' all depends on the company that advertises, not the company that places their ads. Screening advertisements and advertisers can only go so far for many of these services, and you should always double check the company, their ad, and their background, before doing any work for anyone. This is your personal responsibility, more than the advertising service's.
