I suppose it was too much to hope that our 'main-stream print media' might give the community theatre world anything in the way of a mention in PIAF time?
Very depressing for dedicated publicity officers who do their damndest to get the shows known about, but never mind, word of mouth seems to be doing a pretty good job of it!
Garrick sold out almost before it oopens.
Melville filling fast.
?Any other news?

RE: Publicity

There's a poll and debate raging currently at fuel4arts

on a closely related issue.

"Do Festivals encourage an orgy of arts consumption in a spurt once a year?"

Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to the site even just to check the results

:-(

With an unprecedented number of productions on around town i'd be very keen to hear how they are all faring for audience. As Norma has suggested, in spite of the mainstream media focussing their attention on PIAF events, some local productions would appear to be doing very well. Other reports?

Cheers
Grant
