Blunt Banning
Thu, 1 June 2006, 04:20 pmJust trawling though Cyber News and saw this article. James Blunt, Banned from UK Airwaves and why? Apparently because of too much air time. Here's an excerpt.
AN English radio station said it has banned songs by British crooner James Blunt from its airwaves after listeners said they were fed up with hearing You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover.
Chris Cotton, programme controller of local radio Essex FM in southern England, said: "We don't have anything against James Blunt and we're pleased he has been so successful, but we really need a break."

OK, so James Blunt is banned for too much repitition. What about the Police (when they were around) who were notorious for repitition within a single song (eg Roxanne), and what about radio stations who are guilty of plugging certain songs by playing them more than three times in a single day (92.9 FM Perth)? Who else should suffer banning?
Last night while watching TV, the Myer Add was played twice in the same commercial spot (occasionally one after the other) for each commercial spot within a specific show! Let's ban Myer! While a somewhat silly concept, now I think about, it has some merit. BAN COMMERCIALS! Period.
