I don't know if this has been noted in Green Room Gossip yet but fans of the evergreen Dean Schulze will be ecstatic to note that he is set to make his mark on the world of MUSICAL theatre in Scarp's "Cabaret" at the Aberdeen opening on the 5th of March (or is it 6th, Jamie?).

I am breathless with anticipation at the thought of this Domingo-esque treat and I hope you will all join me in my standing ovation on opening night.

Well done, Dean. All of us real actors applaud your bravery. (What? Scorch marks? What are they doing there?)

Ah Leah, my old nemesis.

I'll have you know, young lady, that Mr Schulze is no stranger to the world of Musical Theatre.

I had the vision and foresight some _nine_ years ago to cast Mr Schulze in the singing role of Mr Deltoid, social worker to one Alex DeLarge, in my Playlovers production of "A Clockwork Orange" (playing, incidentally, alongside Trent Baker - a now WAAPA-fied and currently Melbourne-based waite... er....actor, who has recently played such illustrious roles as Reporter #1 in the epic mini-series "On The Beach").

He acquitted himself marvellously with Eliot McCann penned ditty "Theological Evil" (having convulsions at the memory yet, Deano?), which was a true highlight of what is a rare breed - a Playlovers Musical that _didn't_ win a Finley.

Fair go Meadows. It was 9 years ago and so I was only 21 years old. And of course Leah wouldn't remember - she was still in a bassinette under the bar at The Irish Club.
PS It worries me for the Future of your Opera thingy if you call what I did in "Clockwork" singing. It made Lee Marvin sound like Pavarotti.
