What are you looking for? I've got a couple of monologues I wrote that I'm trying to get out there a bit. They're both for older women but is that an issue with an exam piece? One is about gambling and homelessness and the other is about my families fight with Alzheimers. We got some pretty good reviews at the Adelaide Fringe. If you'd like to have a look I can e-mail them. They're mine so no issues with licenses. Thanks for the offer luv but unfortunately from what i gather they are not from an actual play. I have many monologues that do not come from plays but for the exam no matter what it is as long as it comes from a scripted published play and you can give the examiners the ISB (i think thats it) number on the book cover then it's acceptable. ~ Tari The Writer is a child forever listening at the keyhole of the adult world.

Hi Tari You are quite right about your monologue. It must come from a published script. You must have the ISBN and date of publication and other information so if you are getting it from a monologue book make sure please that you keep that information. Please don't do what a lot of students have done recently and find a monologue on an internet site. Some of these monologues have not been published and therefore they do not qualify. Also , just remember Tari, that the monologue is done with your one person show, so whatever character you are doing for your one person show, its a good idea to try and show some type of contrast with the monologue.That way the examiners get to see what else you are capable of doing.If your one person show is a comedy, do a serious monologue. The examiners have said several times that they do not like students trying to do characters from monologues that they know nothing about. If you are choosing a monologue from a book, if at all possible read the whole play and try and work out the context etc. It may help you also when being interviewed by the panel. just some thoughts! Actually I am a published playwright and these two one woman one act plays have been submitted to my UK publisher and will almost certainly be published but never mind. From what Kerrii says they may be innapproriate for what you are doing. Best of luck with your exams and stuff.
