BOCS
Sat, 3 Feb 2001, 11:30 amSo is it being sold? Have the government come to their senses and won't 'GIVE' it to Ticketmaster and Kerry Stokes to create a monopoly?
just wondering as it has all gone a bit quiet what with the election an all.

Don't forget that Carmen Lawrence's Government (labor) looked at the privatisation of BOCS in 1990, albeit a decision at the end not to cleave it off from the Perth Theatre Trust.
Yes it is a very sad situation when a company that is continually questioned over poor service standards and restrictive trade practices (ask Pearl Jam and Congress in the USA in 1994 and in Victoria the Trade Practices Commission in 1995).
Wasn't BOCS given to Ticketek a while ago? Surely two players in a state as small (population-wise) would make sense, particularly as both wish to operate in WA. Not one, to create a monopolist with a record of practices that fit the role!
