Lets start a game. It works like this: Someone writes a movie , eg PULP FICTION then someone names someone in that movie JOHN TRAVOLTA then the next person names another movie that person is in FACE/OFF NICOLAS CAGE etc. I'll start it off Snatch

My last move for the day and for the week... Of course, this game could conceivably go on forever. And not only that, but if anyone decided to start at a point other than the very last thread posted, they would create a parallel universe game which would also continue in a brand new direction forever. And there could be infinite numbers of these parallel threads. Perhaps a rule to introduce is that no film or personality can ever be repeated? It might technically then be possible to come to a dead end...although I'm sure the cleverer of you would be able to keep it stalemated for an incredibly long time. The game is, however, remarkably resemblant of the game 'Six degrees of Kevin Bacon', which is a parody of the theory expressed in the movie 'Six Degrees of Separation' (and kind of a pun on the imperfect rhyme of Kevin Bacon/Separation)...that any person in the world can be connected to anyone else by a chain of associates no longer than six people...if you knew the right people. 'SDKB' is played by picking any movie celebrity, and then linking via a shared movie to another movie celebrity, until you can make a link to Kevin Bacon. The object is to come up with the shortest possible list of people in between. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon_number The longest games so far are 8 steps. (William Shatner had a Bacon number of 8, according to the above website). But every year more movies are made which forge shortcut links. It might be an interesting game to choose someone involved in the ITA (Six degrees of Grant Malcolm..?) and link through shared stage plays...see who has the highest 'Malcolm number'? [Mine would be 2. Grant played alongside Jenny McCann in 'What the Butler Saw'. Jenny and I were in 'Wolf Lullaby'.] I dare say in Perth the game would in most cases become "TWO degrees of separation". Cheers, Craig ~<8>-/====\---------
