Follow the Light - A New Musical AUDITIONS
Thu, 25 Aug 2005, 12:52 pmMurdoch University Productions will be staging a new original musical entitled FOLLOW THE LIGHT - a "non-religious version of the Christmas story" (the biggest oxymoron we've ever had to work with!!) - in late November, and for singer-actors & musos are wanted to be part of the show!
FTL is a modern retelling of the tale involving shepherds, sheep, stars and the whole shebang -- told in a contemporary way, with songs ranging from pop to rock to punk -- and it's a fun, tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the story, aimed primarily at late teens, young adults and the young-at-heart. While it's meant to be contemporary and humourous, it's not meant to be taking the mickey -- thereby being enjoyable by both believers and non-.
Auditions are open to singer-actors between 18 and 35 (although if you're outside of this age group, it doesn't really matter) with strong contemporary/pop/rock voices (think the ever-popular Rent), and will be held on the first weekend of September, 3rd and 4th.
