Casting for 3 Tropfest Films - Victoria
Thu, 25 Aug 2005, 12:25 pmSnowgum Films have finally gone insane – with a decision to enter THREE films in the upcoming Tropfest. Count ‘em! Three! And obviously we’re going to need some actors.
So if youÂ’d like the opportunity to work with a dedicated and award winning crew, check out the films and roles below. Films to be shot on HDV.
Send all CVs and headshots to: auditions@snowgumfilms.com.
Auditions are to be held on the 1st and 2nd of September, with shoot dates organised to suite everyone involved.
No one will be payed – but they will be fed and be given a copy of the completed film on DVD.
All films and roles listed below… or for ease of organisation – feel free to visit the film title below for a separate page and script.
* Angelfish – http://www.snowgumfilms.com/angelfish/
* The Morning After - http://www.snowgumfilms.com/themorningafter/
* Saturday - http://www.snowgumfilms.com/saturday/
ANGELFISH
Angelfish is a rather silly comedy with a bloody and surprising conclusion. People are disappearing, and someoneÂ… or somethingÂ… is to blame.
Each actor will only be needed for two hours maximum on their scenes shoot date.
STEVE (male18 – 25 year old)
A skinny lad simply going for a walk.
RICHARD (male 25 – 60 year old)
A bath robed gentleman, awakening to a fresh new day of hope and coffee.
JANE (female 25 – 40 year old)
Mother to Toby. If you have a child suitable to play Toby – than that will certainly be an advantage.
BEC (female 25 – 40 year old)
Friend of Jane, and very chatty.
TOBY (baby around 2 years old)
If anyone has a small child suitable for a pram, please let us know.
TRAVIS (male 25 – 60 year old)
A street bum. One of those ones that mumble unceasingly.
BEN (male 25 – 60 year old)
Also a street bum. Would be a sympathetic ear to Travis, if it wasnÂ’t for the fact that he is deaf.
MAX (male 25 – 60 year old)
A regular down-to-Earth Aussie bloke. HeÂ’s also an angel.
NORMAN (male 25 – 60 year old)
Another regular down-to-Earth Aussie bloke. He too - is also an angel.
THE MORNING AFTER
The Morning After is the tale of a young girl who awakens - after a night of hard partying - in bed with two strangers. She starts to piece together the night beforeÂ… she wishes she hadnÂ’t. Escape is unfortunately not an option, as one of them has fallen asleep on her arm leaving only one alternative left open to her: Cut off the arm, and leave it behind.
The Morning After is an extremely violent and bloody comedy. Although the film has no dialogue whatsoever, it will require EMILY to have fantastic comic timing and facial expressions. A lot of effort is going into the aesthetic design of the room, the score, the cinematography, and the FX – so please don’t think the role isn’t worthy of consideration of those that are experienced – as it’s aiming to be a visual spectacle.
RASPUTIN and BARRY however, will require both actors to just lie there. Probably not the best roles on the planet – but it’s always worth letting you know about these characters, because you just never know.
EMILY (female 17 – 30 year old)
Sweet, innocent, and highly strung.
RASPUTIN (male 20 – 50 year old)
Incredibly muscular.
BARRY (male 20 – 50 year old)
Incredible hairy.
SATURDAY
On the day of the last ever Hey Hey ItÂ’s Saturday, two of the shows biggest fans have tickets to be in the audience. A road trip to the big smoke is in order but will they get there in time?
Obviously a comedy about mateship and popular Australian TV lore.
PHIL (20 – 30 years old)
One of Hey Hey ItÂ’s SaturdayÂ’s biggest fans.
STEVE (20 – 30 years old)
Also one of Hey HeyÂ’s biggest fans.
SARAH (20 – 40 years old)
Stuck on the side of the road with a car that wonÂ’t workÂ… and about to give birth. Having a baby would certainly be an advantage to winning this role.
BABY (as young as possible/newborn)
If any one has a baby, please let us know. WeÂ’d make our own, but it would take too long.
JULIE (20 – 30 years old)
Housemate to Phil and Steve.
