AUDITIONS FOR SHORT FILM

Production for an emotive short film drama, entitled, My Socks is commencing at Murdoch University.

DirectorÂ’s Synopsis:
The heart of a father is his son’s schoolroom. James has been trying to get into his father’s heart for all eleven years of his life. Despite knowing Dad for the longest time, Dad is but a stranger to him. James cannot understand why Dad only loves his younger brother, Matt. James’ only dream is gain Dad’s love. He boldly sets his young heart to attaining his dream. Not by escaping into sleep, but by running. You see, Dad used to win every race when he was James’ age. He had the fastest pair of legs this side of town. And Matt, just like Dad, wins shiny medals every now and then. James is determined to champion the distance. “Like father, like son”, they will one day say. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Will James win the race if he doesn’t quit? More importantly, will he win Dad’s heart?

The Director and DOP for this production were part of the team that won the award for Best 2nd Year Film, Trolley Ride at "The Final Cut" 2004 Murdoch University film competition.

We are searching for dedicated actors to play the following roles:
Dad: 35-53yrs. Caucasian. Versatile actor. Strong voice, commanding presence.
Commentator: Voice actor adept in sport commentary.
Driver: 30 – 60 years. Pleasant looking.
Manager: 25 – 40 years. Pleasant looking,
2 Workers: 18 – 25 years. Slim/Medium build.
2 boys: 11 – 15 years. Must love/know how to play video games.
5 teenage girls: 13 – 18 years. Attractive, Friendly.
2 Workers: 16 –25 years. Pleasant looking.
Woman: 25 – 80 years. Sweet looking.

Auditions will be held on 26/08/05 and 27/08/05 (Fri - Sat) 4.30pm – 9pm at Murdoch University, TV Studio B. An alternative date may be negotiated if necessary. Please bring along your printed CV and a colour photograph of yourself.
