Actors Needed for ECU Short Film
Wed, 17 Aug 2005, 12:35 pmActors are needed for our short film 'A Soldier'. We are scheduled to film between the 23rd-28th of August.
Auditions are being held at Edith Cowan University's Mt Lawley campus from 4:30 until 6:00 on Friday the 19th and Monday the 22nd. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact myself and I will give you the details for the audition and the auditioning room.
The short film plays with the audience's mind, leading them to a particular resolution.
Synopsis:
We enter the house of a young man and woman early in the morning. It is apparent that the man is leaving on an emotionally heavy journey, which is appears to be tied to the Iraq war effort. His close girlfriend is sad to see him leave and worries for his safety. This weighs heavily on the mind of the young man who has to be strong and leave his love behind to go and fight. But what is he fighting for? Where is he going?
Characters:
MAN: Early to mid twenties. Heavily troubled by what lies ahead of him. He is leaving his home and close partner to undergo an assignment. Deciding to go is tearing him apart and for this reason seems a little detached from reality as he tries to hide his distress. Loves his girlfriend but also has a strong sense of duty to his line of work. His uniform and attitude suggests he is an important secret service agent.
WOMAN: Early to mid twenties. The young manÂ’s close girlfriend who is very attached to him. DoesnÂ’t want him to leave, but realises that she canÂ’t do much to alter his resolve to complete his job. Although she canÂ’t hide her sadness and distress, she loves him enough to support his decision in the end.
MR. X: A man that meets with the main character after he leaves his home. Provides him with his ‘assignment’ details. Government operative. Dressed in a suit and well groomed.
DUDE: Late teens / Early Twenties. Young man who lives at home. Easily irritated and slightly rude. Typical young male.
Shooting times will be discussed on the audition, and we can accomodate your available times in junction to ours. We hope to hear from you!
