Limited places left for Practical Aesthetics Masterclass - BOOK NOW!

Practical Aesthetics is the acting technique devised by playwright / director David Mamet and actor William H Macy. The technique is taught by the Atlantic Theatre Company of New York to provide actors and directors with a clear way to analyse scripts of all media and to find truth in the moment of performance. The technique draws on the later writing of Stanislavsky, and the works of Sanford Meisner, Joseph Campbell, Aristotle, Bruno Bettleheim, Sigmund Frued, Carl Jung, William James and Alice Miller. The technique is of particular value to actors, directors and dramaturgs and has steadily grown in popularity since Andrea introduced it to Australia in 1995.

This masterclass will take place over two and a half days during which participants will be introduced to the analysis technique and the philosophy of Practical Aestheics, apply the technique immediately to scripts and put the steps of the analysis into play.
