Please could you help me?

My name is Fiona and i am from Melbourne, VIC. I am 15½ years old and have no acting experience. I have a large range of other skills though.
I want to do part-time acting. How would i go about doing that?
Is it worth persuing a career in acting whilst i am still in high school or would it effect my schooling?
I know it is very hard to get into acting...but i am just writing this to hopefully find out more.

Sat, 15 Jan 2005, 09:37 amhang in school- you will need a higher education even if you want to be an actor for while you are in between jobs. for now though, check your local community telephone book for youth theatre groups for a hobby. while i was in school i was involved in heaps of theatre shows and also drama classes. also expand your skills while you are still young, learn to sing and dance as well, belive me it will come in handy and one day may be the decider between yourself getting a role and someone who can not sing or dance. Check with a drama techer at your school if they can put on some school plays... mabey he or she will see their next star in front of them. whatever happens continue to work at your dream and remember ...hang on there in school, whats a few years of studying compared to the rest of your life!!!
