Acting/presenting roles...
Mon, 15 Nov 2004, 06:47 pmI'm a nearly 42 year-old ex stage performer (singing mostly) with a lot of confidence and good experience. I have appeared in commercials (Town & Country and RAC) and have also performed in fashion parades (as the 'mama' to the girls!). I have been on stage most of my life and when I was 13, my first appearance on stage was singing "Ma, he's making eyes at me". I am registered with an agency or two, but it doesn't hurt to put your name out there! I've done Karaoke, stage singing and choreography for over 4 years and previously was the front person for my own r&r band for 3 years.
I'm extremely confident and am great at accents! I just need to warm up! I look good and have long blonde/coffee/cream hair and blue eyes. I am 5'6" tall and fluctuate between a size 8 and 10. Since turning 40, I seem to have a pair of boobs now and a bottom! I used to be stick thin. People now say I'm "shapely"! Is that good?
I play golf with my fiance on weekends and am searching for that out of the box job that will give me financial security. I'm happy to audition for anything that I can tell mum and dad about. No nudies for me please! I'm currently working as a PA.
I'm great with people and love dry comedy like Frasier etc. I'd love to take on the part of a b--ch, but don't look like one. I'll attach a piccie and you can judge for yourselves. I have an extremely unpenetrable sense of humour (hence this email!) and am always willing to 'have a go'!
I think I'd make an extremely good 'presenter', as I'm very confident and can read a script! I would love to try out. I even wrote to SBS and asked them if I could audition for the Karaoke series as a presenter, but they'd already popped Maurie into the role.
I suppose this has just taken up your time, but I've learned that "if you don't ask, you don't get". Thank you for taking the time to read this.
