Re: Silversun acting

hahaha... I have never met people who are so obsessed with Silversun... though I have to agree that it is an execellent show, also the fact that it is made in Melbourne makes me excited!!! Jokes, there are heaps of shows made in Melbourne, and I reckon eventhough it would be excellent to work on the Silversun it would probably be easier to try out for shows like neighbours...
by the way do any of you know our own Melbourne bred actress Emily Browning? She will be in the new movie Lemony Snickets A Series Of Unfortunate Events with Jim Carrey...
Watch out for it!!!

Re: Silversun acting

hey guys, i think its hell good that you support the local shows so mcuh! and it is a good show i must admit!! tho unfortunately to get a role you will most probably need a casting agent, someone who represents you and can get you auditions for shows such as this. Unfortunately auditions for tv shows are rarely advertised on websites such as this, and are only forwarded to agents with select clients. So my best advice for oyu guys is to look into gettin an agent!! Work hard at it! Demand an audition!! Show em what you got!! Strut your stuff and show em how good you are!! Then you might get lucky :D

Re: Silversun acting

Adam,

You can get agents in the newspaper. Under casual work in the Classified section. They advertise for Actors and Models for tv and film. Good luck!

Questionable conclusion

Am I the only one who finds ending a series with a cliffhanger which is never resolved quite idiotic? I mean, first the play the series on channel seven and end it at the wormhole, and I'm sure that when you loyal Silversun fans discovered it was airing on the ABC, many of you held hopes of discovering the conclusion.
I found that this choice of ending was stupid and rather annoying, and it really lowered my opinion of the show, which I had liked previously. The actors, being young, still have much to learn, but their performances are relatively believable. So the show had promise. But really, even the Never Ending Story had an ending, but instead Silversun introduced a character pointlessly, because the climaz in which he is present is completely ruined by the fact that there are no follow-up episodes.
This climax ending would have been very effective if it got followed up by another part of the series. I myself began to watch it on the holidays, was intrigued, only to have it end in QLD when they find C2, but continue on 7 Prime. If that wasn't annoying enough, when the show began again the following holidays, it ended on a climax which was never resolved. The same thing applies to when it was aired on the ABC.

The show itself has become pointless and a total disappointment.

Re: Questionable conclusion

I tottaly agree even though i was all the happy to watch it over again i was kind of dissapointed to find out that what i had watched was the end. There was no websites on the show so i was kind of glad when abc put one up.
It left me so mad so what i did about it was write into abc and seven to the director of the show.
I urge you all to do the same if they find out how popular the show is then they will have to do a second season. YAY

Re: Silversun acting

I diddnt start watching SS on 7, but i may have caught a few show without noticing... I remember thinking during some of the shows that I had seen them before... LOL

Anywho, you guys need agents to get TV Shows... Pretty gay i know... But if acting is what you dream about, you need to go out and get one!

Good luck to you all and i hope you get into Series 2 of SS!

Re: Questionable conclusion

hey smash,

your an idiot cause their is a second series, did u dink that the ppl who made ss were that stupid to end it there. As for the ending it was meant to leave u up in the air so that u can get excited for the second series.
dont bag silversun

Re: Silversun acting

Erm guys
a) There was only one season, of 40 eps
b) The ABC cancelled the dvd release. No DVD. Gay, huh?
c) The reason there was a cliffhanger ending was to keep people interested, and hopefully to get a second series. We need your support if you want another series, please write to the ABC to get a new series!

Okay
You are not going to believe me, but I'm going to tell you anyway
I am Sarah Walker
I play Pancha
Yeah, sure, you think. Seriously, I'm serious!
Proof: http://s4.invisionfree.com/Silver_Sun/index.php?showtopic=444&st=0
Yep, that's me there in those photos looking HIIIIIIIIIGHLY attractive at singapore airport on the way to germany
Which is where I am currently
Anyway
Have fun
And yes, you do need an agent to get roles on telly. Mostly, anyway.
Check out the yellow pages. Do NOT check out stupid magazine ads that say 'Looking for actors, no talent needed' etc etc etc
Keep trying!
Get yourself a resume
Go for auditions
Just keep trying!
Love

Re: Questionable conclusion

It is very interesting to hear what goes on with this show in other states. I myself am a 33 year year old west Ozzy with a four year old who loves to watch the show. Being a bit of a Sci-Fi nut myself, I get a kick out of it.

Over hear, the show airs on ABC Kids and so far hasn't been chopped and changed between stations. It has never ended on a cliffhanger without resolution and generally speaking is a solid show for the demographic it is aimed at, kids and young adults (and the big kid in some of use adults too ;-).

The questionable endings you complain about would appear to be the inability of stations to hold on to the airing rights in your state, which is a pity really. When a show is suddenyl swapped from one station to another, the newer station tends to re-air older episodes or skip entirely to newer episodes based upon the contract it signed with the producing agent.

For those of you that have experienced this, register your complaints with the Station itself, then get the series out on DVD/Video. Watch the show at your leasure and boycott the TV until they get it right.

Just a Dad's two cents worth.

It is heartening to see someone who is up there on the screen give support and encouragement to others of similar aspirations.

Congrates on such a great show and I hope you have a long and happy career ahead.
