AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER THE INCREDIBLE AND TUMULTUOUS WORLD OF THE CLOWN!
FINDING ONES CLOWN IS AN IMPORTANT PROCESS FOR ANY PERFORMER. AT THE HEART OF CLOWN THERE EXISTS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMANITY THAT CAN BE TRANSLATED INTO ANY GENRE OF PERFORMANCE.
CLOWN IGNITES THE ABSURD THAT IS IN ALL OF US AND GIVES US GREATER ACCESS TO OUR CREATIVE IMPULSES AS ACTORS, PERFORMERS, ARTISTS AND HUMANS.
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
• SLAPSTICK with Scott Witt - RED NOSE CLOWN - CLOWN CHARACTER – DEVISING CLOWN SCENARIOS - MOVEMENT & MIME TRAINING
YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED TO FIND THE TRUTH THAT IS THE CORNERSTONE OF YOUR CLOWN, TO (RE) DISCOVER YOUR IMAGINATION AND REFINE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF STAGE PRESENCE.
This intensive will be led by Brisbane based Clown specialist ANDREW CORY – Andrew has had extensive international training and stage experience. He has studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier (London), Centre Selavy Mask School (France), The School For Mime Theatre (USA) and Bont’s International Clown School (Spain). He has worked for the Queensland Theatre Company, the South Australia Theatre Company, the Queensland Ballet, The Queensland Symphony Orchestra and numerous independent companies. Andrew is a co-founder of The Angry Mime performance night at The Brisbane Powerhouse.
Guest Tutor:
SCOTT WITT – currently an Associate Director for the Qld Theatre Company, Scott has had 20 years experience in stage combat and performance. He is president of The Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc. and has trained and taught internationally. Scott is currently completing his masters in Fine Arts at QUT in Stage Combat and Fight Direction.

2 weeks full-time Monday - Friday 10:00am to 4:00 pm
