HI All... I am having trouble trying to find out what is a legitimate, or at least industry standard percentage that an agent in the performing arts might take.

Can anyone tell me where I might find an industry standard documents that would list the recommended amount, or failing that, a list of examples and percentages?

Would love to hear from anyone who is dealling with an agent, and who would be willing to disclose the amount that they pay.

Thanks for you help!

Re: Agents

THis same topic was dealt with not long ago.... check the back logs for details. An agent will usually take 15% of work they find for you. Of course, it depends on : the type of work, the dedication of the agent, etc etc

Re: Agents

The MEAA (Actors' Equity - the Australian Union) state that under the Entertainment Industry Act 1989, an agent should only charge you 10% commission per job.

They have a .pdf file all about an agent and client's rights, role and responsibilities (as well as commissions), which you can download at this link:

Hope that helps,
