Young Male Actor needed for Short Film in Melbourne

A young male actor (app. 10 years old) is required for a short film being shot in and around Melbourne August 19th - 22nd, 2004 (actor will not be required for all days). It is a low/no budget shoot, so the role is unpaid, but will be a fantastic experience and lots of fun.

My name is Alexander and I am 9 and a half years old. I live in Prahran with my mum and my budgie and my lizard. I have been going to drama classes at the NAT since I was 5 and I really like acting. Last year I auditioned for a part in the Murray Wheelan movie. I had to learn some lines and that was fun. I did not get the part and I was a little disappointed. I would like to be in a film and so could I please audition for yours.

This was a good, concise and business-like response; HOWEVER you should make sure you respond directly to the email address provided, as there is NO guarantee that the director will check back on this website in time, if at all.



This goes for everyone responding to 'actor wanted' posts here. If an email is not provided in the main message, click on the 'author' link where you will find their email address. The director WANTS you to respond directly if you fit their description, and to privately arrange a time to audition.

Imagine if I put an ad in the newspaper classifieds advertising a job position, and then everyone who wanted to apply for the job ALSO advertised their reply....do you think I'd be bothered looking through the next editions of the paper to read your response? Of course not. I'd have left phone or email contact details, and I'd expect you to apply in person.

It's actually fairly pointless posting replies on a public forum when they're intended for one person only. The intended recipient may not see it, and to the rest of us it's irrelevant.
