Auditions

As a regular auditionee, and hopefully future director, I would like more of the auditions I attend, to not be "book a time", because then everyone can see who they are up against. Especially if they are waiting in the same room as the audition is being held.

Hello Luke, you certainly are coming up with some strange ideas tonight young man!
As a future director, then, how do you propose to organize your actors at an audition? You surely can't mean everyone just turns up when they feel like it, but if you don't book a time - then what? You can only be so accomodating to the actors you audition. It's a good idea to keep 5minutes in between each timeslot in case you run overtime, but you won't want to be kept waiting, and it will be inevitable that actors will meet in the waiting room. What is wrong with that? In my opinion if you are going to be intimidated in the waiting room you probably aren't ready to audition.
It is a different story if you are actually doing your audition in the same room as other auditioning actors. I would prefer to just have the director or casting agent present. In my experience that is how it is always done anyway, I think the situation you are describing must be very rare
