Total Acting Workshop
Sat, 28 Feb 2004, 10:20 amTheatre Dwa Konie presents: Total Acting – Unlocking the musicality of the body, voice and word, a one-day workshop.
This workshop is aimed at actors, singers, dancers and other performers interested in exploring their full creative potential through tapping into their innate musicality. Our work is inspired by Polish companies Gardzienice and Piesn Kozla (Song of the Goat), with whom director Andy Biziorek has been working for a number of years.
One of the main principles of our work stems from the belief that everything – including us – has its own innate musicality, that is, not just literally music, but a spirit of music that expresses itself through us in countless ways. We work with a variety of techniques to engage and harmonise the body, voice, breath and word, including simple acrobatics, group movement work on rhythm and coordination, group vocal work and work on songs, partner work focusing on physical and vocal harmony and being able to listen to and tune into the body’s impulses and then harmonise these with one’s partner/s.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A ‘SINGER’ TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR WORKSHOPS
$90 for the day, 10am-4pm.
Seymour Theatre Centre, cnr Cleveland St and City Rd, Chippendale.
