I am only 12 years old and i really love acting.i've been in a few plays,readers theatre and talent shows.i mostly want to act in a sitcom,something on disney.shows on the disney channel like "THATS SO RAVEN","SISTER,SISTER","LIZZIE MCGUIRE" and well you get my point.Or even a big movie like "THE RING" you know,something really good.But this is something i dream of.I really want to do this,more than anything in the world.If you know of any movie of sitcom that i can act in,please e-mail me at luckystar12892@aol.com.THANKS

hi!! oh my god i've like always like my whole life i wanted to become an actress. my whole family says im a drama queen. whenever i see girls my age acting in a show i always wonder how they got that job and how lucky they are to be able to act. every one says that u need an agent or something to start. but i have no idea what to do. i would die of hapiness if i ever got to act in a t.v show or in a movie or something. i dont want to act because of the money i want to act because thats what i love to do and i have a passion for it. i have no idea how to start. i'll do anything i dont care how much it costs. i need help!

Last I was aware, to be called 'a drama queen' was NOT a compliment!

It refers to someone who over-reacts to trivial things and creates a scene simply to get attention. It generally does NOT imply any acting talent, in fact I would interpret it to convey the opposite!

Don't take it too hard though, I'm sure the people who call you that don't realize what it means either.

Yep, but let's not forget how insular the stereotypical yank is and that we are virtually the 51st state (or is it 52nd - I can never quite remember which, but that's probably a better guess than most of them could make about Oz and how many states we have).

I think we must be the 53rd state (after Puerto Rico and Canada) or possibly 65th state? (Canada does have 13 provinces after all...)
and do they count DC as a state yet?

I'm actually surprised we haven't yet had a posting from some yanklet saying something along the lines of...
"like Daddy is taking me to Europe soon and its gonna be sooooo cool and I was wondering if you know of any good theatres in Vienna where they speak American, because I like soooo want to act!"

Sure, but at least 50 is an easy number for them to remember (although it's only been that way since Alaska and then Hawaii joined in 1959).

How many Australians know instinctively how many states WE have? Because do we count the Northern Territory as a state yet? (I've read conflicting information on the internet. It became self-governing in 1978, and for all intents and purposes appears to be treated as a state, but I think it's still just a territory?)

It's not just the Americans who can get geographically confused. When we performed in Japan in '85, we attended a banquet where a diligent organist had studied up his Australiana....he played 'Road to Gundagai', 'Waltzing Matilda', and 'Click Go The Shears' during dinner - and then we were all invited to sing along for his grand finale...lucky we knew the words to 'Eidelweiss'...!!
