Hi Jane,

Players Theatre Company, in Mount Waverley, are in the throes of planning for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Notices should appear in the Herals-Sun shortly. Information session is (tentatively) planned for mid-November, with auditions two weeks later.

Haha, no there's no main site. Join the Yahoo group Melbourne Auditions and Melbourne Actors (two groups actually!) I also run a free weekly newsletter with theatre jobs/auditions/info in it. Email me to get on the list (current address book size: more than 60!)

Hi Johnathan,

Unfortunately, nobody's going to find you a job (mostly because they're busy looking for one themselves), but keep going with theatre (studying, being involved in amateur stuff, etc.), get an agent, and learn what you can. Thirteen is a very young age, and even if you do find paid work (or unpaid work for that matter), you may find that you no longer want to continue with it because of school commitments or a change of heart. Read the other comments on this site regarding finding work, there are a lot of helpful tips.

There's no specific site to view. You could try The Rehearsal Room, or the auditions on this site, but there is no one place for auditions.

Generally, people just keep checking on various sites, including the above, or paid subscription sites like Arts Hub and QuietOnSet.

I also run a free publication that advertises paid work only, that comes to your email once a week. We run from Melbourne, so most of our auditions are based in the area. Check us out at The Prompt Copy (link is listed in signature).
