Philippines fest seeks short films

An inaugural international short film festival profiling emerging talent, to be held in the Philippines, 25-27 March, is seeking quality Australian short films from for consideration.
Films should not exceed 30 minutes in length and must be available on BETA SP for screening purposes. Entry is free of charge.
Send VHS (PAL only) tapes for viewing to:

MIFF wants to look up your shorts

The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), celebrating its 50th year in 2001, is now seeking entries for its 39th annual Short Film Competition.
Australian entries will be competing for prizes including the BEYOND Award for Best Australian Short Comedy ($5,000), the Cinemedia Erwin Rado Award for Best Australian Short Film ($2,000), the Kino Cinemas Award for Creative Excellence in an Australian Short Film ($2,500), as well as five City of Melbourne Awards, worth $13,000 in total.
In a news release, MIFF commented that it screened more than 180 short films in 2000 (40 of which were Australian): 'more than the Berlin, London and Sundance festivals, and more than any other Australian festival.'
