I am interested in musical theatre, but I'm having trouble finding any classes or courses in my area. I am fifteen years old and live in Perth Western Australia. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!!

Sat, 28 Oct 2000, 11:54 amHi Bec - I don't have a lot of advice to offer as I'm just finding my feet in Perth as well, but the fact that you're on this site is a good start... I think the best way to start out is to start out! You'll meet good people & they might have some connections for you. I know that Stirling Theatre in Karrinyup has a youth division (they're members of ITA as well & you'll find details on this site), also most local companies have at least 1 musical in their season. Perhaps you could contact WAAPA (WA Academy of Performing Arts) & they could point you in the right direction.
Lastly, I think you'd have better luck if you posted another message to the GOSSIP section with a subject like "any courses/classes in Musical Theatre?" - it seems to get more responses.
