'Oliver!' Costumes Wanted
Mon, 2 Jan 2012, 12:05 pmHi Everybody,
I'm trying to find out if anybody knows of a set of costumes for Lionel Bart's 'Oliver!' that is available for hire. I work for a high school who is doing a production in March, and we are particularly looking for a large set of workhouse/orphanage clothes for our chorus.
Does anybody know of any theatre companies/costume companies or other who have a set for hire?
Thanks
Gideon

Costume and set hire Melbourne
I know that Whitehorse Musical Theatre Co do, as South West Opera here in WA hired costumes for Les Mis from them in 2005. www.whitehorsemusical.com.au
Good Luck

Thanks Lindsay, Whitehorse
Thanks Lindsay,
Whitehorse closed down last year, I believe they sold many of their costumes to try and make back some money. I'm not sure if another company/person or school now owns that set of costumes???

Hi I know Kelmscott Senior
Hi
I know Kelmscott Senior High did Oliver about 5 or 6 years ago - they may have costumes to borrow / hire - they are often fundraising for music tours etc, so if you put it to them as a fundraising proposal they might like the idea :)

Why not get your parents
Why not get your parents together to produce the costumes & only hire in the odd special costume.
Basicly for the urchins they can be produced from headcloth & the rest cobled together or hire in only the few principal costumes.
You don't have to have a reoilving stage structure, with winched trucks. But it's not that difficult to produce a fairly imaginative set, that would enhance the mise en scene.
