Ever wanted to meet some of Hollywood’s top casting directors – but didn’t know where to start? If you’re frustrated with the lack of film and television work in Australia, this is a chance to expand your horizons and gain a valuable insight into the mechanics of the entertainment industry in the US. This May, Industry Hollywood is giving professional Australian actors a chance to be in Los Angeles during the pilot season to network with top casting agents, producers and directors. It’s also an opportunity to attend workshops with acting guru Howard Fine and learn audition techniques with Amy Lyndon, the in-house casting director for MGM Worldwide Television and feature consultant at MGM Studios. Industry Hollywood is flying out a small, select group of professional actors from around the world to meet and work with the LA industry at its busiest time of year. Getting that big break is all about being in the right place at the right time. The most recent Industry Hollywood Networking Week saw four actors gain representation from LA managers and agents. You can view their testimonials at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKylAZr0ilg Participants meet top acting agents such as William Morris, CAA, UTA and Gersh and casting directors from Die Hard, Monster, Star Trek: Voyager, Cold Case, Starship Troopers, Charmed and more. Industry Hollywood also takes actors to studio lots and offices to meet producers and directors who have worked on films and TV shows such as Backdraft, Good Luck Chuck, Ray, Sahara, Star Trek, License to Wed, ER and Nip/Tuck. With three to four meetings a day, the $4000 value package* includes seven nights’ individual hotel accommodation, transport around LA and all meetings, workshops and other activities. To apply for the Industry Hollywood Networking Week in LA from May 14 to 21, please email your CV, detailing your experience, and headshot to australia@industryhollywood.com. More information is available at www.industryhollywood.com. (*Please note this does not include airfares or meals.)
