ECU Student Production (Unpaid)

Hi, My name's Joshua Gilbert and I'm currently studying a film and video major at Edith Cowan University. As part of our course we are required to shoot a five minute short film based on a pre-determined script. We are looking to cast around 11 people. The roles are as follows: Shawn (Main Character) - Aged 20-25 Male G-Man (Main Character) - Aged 20-25 FEMALE Dad (Minor Speaking role) - Aged 30+ (ages are only approximate) As well as 8 extras for non speaking roles. The extras will be standing in a frozen position as the script details a time freeze. We will need approxiamtely equal numbers of male and female extras. The shooting dates are from the 8th of October to the 22nd of October (2 weeks) however we may only need the actors for 4 or 5 days. Full details on scheduling are available upon request. Unfortuantely as this is a student production we have no budget so we will be unable to pay the actors. However, all actors are welcome to keep a copy of the short film after editing is completed and come along to the ECU short film screening night where all of the short films will be presented. This role would also be perfect for those looking to add experience or pieces of work to their professional portfolio. The following is a brief summary of the short film: 'The Way Home' follows the story of a young man who is pursued by an unidentified stranger through a world that is frozen in time. This world is Purgatory. The unidentified stranger follows Shawn and attempts to help him come to terms with his traumatic death. Storyboard and script are also available upon request.
