New Material Comedy night, Melbourne

We are currently looking for Comedian/ennes who would like to come along and try out their New Material at our comedy evening on Brunswick St. The evening will consist of five comics trying out new stuff, and one established headliner. Comics trying their new stuff may be asked to headline at future nights. Do let me know if you're interested. Preferably comics already on the circuit. Thanks, Rebecca.

Hi Rebecca, There are a few open mic comedy venues and nights operating around melbourne every week. Getting your night known to new comics is gonna be the challenge. Each Tuesday night at the Comic's Lounge in North Melbourne The Devil's Workshop runs a drop in workshop from 6-8pm where open mic-ers come along, try out material and then maybe fill a spot in the show line up later that night. If you wanna get your open mic night known and promote it to potential comedians then I recommend fronting up one night at the Comic's Lounge and doing a spruik. Hope this helps. Tulipa.

Thanks Tulipa. I've run quite a few comedy nights and new material nights. I know quite a few comedians and I'm hoping to find the majority of my acts that way, you have to be careful not to seem like you're poaching acts, especially from similar style nights. ~RJ
