hello. i am looking for actresses interested in embarking on a project for september. email me for full details, but it is a dark, sexual, physical show. creative input as a performer will be very much sought after, this is a chance to build your own performative ideas into a larger show. Renegade Productions are an up and coming perth based independant theatre group that specialise in design and performances that push the limits of traditional theatre into more performative realms. please email Renegadeproductioncompany @ gmail . com

This may be why no one has seemed interested...

You haven't given much information about what the show is about, what it will look like, how many actors you want, what sort of characterisations you are looking for... 'Dark, physical, and sexual' doesn't really clarify it for us female actors out there, who don't know who you are, and what you are about. I'm not trying to be harsh, but personally, I would worry that this is a show that is going to exploit me as an actor. Be more specific. Tell us who renegade productions are, and what you've done in the past. Then I am sure the millions of female actors in perth will contact you shortly. Also try StarNow.

ain't harsh. didnt realise

ain't harsh. didnt realise that "email for full information" was a problem. The show is "catechism of a revolutionary" and explores the distortions of truth which are fed to us constantly, and the societal creation of both status quo and counterculture that ends up having everyone yoked. its about che guevara and thomas paine. it is also about Medea, Jason and Hecate. the show will be performed at City Farm some time in late september. im not really keen on putting up full descriptions of a show that is still being developed, nor am i keen on doing the same with any show, really, on a public forum, because, emailing works, and showing the world your cards doesnt really contribute toward people coming to your show. but as far as Renegade Production goes... We're a perth based independant theatre company. specialise in design and performances that push the limits of traditional theatre into more performative realms. we;ve been in existance since 2007 and have put out roughly 3 or 4 shows per year. in the first year or so of our existance we operated out of murdoch's Nexus theatre and Drama Workshop, putting out Salome, Antigone, Luminaire and Mammalien (our yearly cabaret.) we then started expanding outword, putting on in the Shadow of the wild and Stratagem of Interlocking Rings at the blue room studio, finishing off 2008 with the second instalment of Mammalien, which had a nice season at Mosman Park's Camelot theatre. 2009 has seen us do a sold out season of Frankenstein at the blue room theatre. look forward to a busy second half of Renegade Productions theatre, as we will be putting up Tuesday, at the Blue Room in august, this show, in city farm in september, and of course, the third instalment of Mammalien, which we are trying to find a suitable home for as we speak

Hi Joe,

That was all I meant, just enough info to know what the production is all about, and if you are legit. Seems you are, I hope it all goes well, sounds exciting.

A quick word in defence of Joe Lui

I have seen shows Joe has worked on and he's probably one of the best lighting and sound people around Perth at present. He is an incredible composer and often works lot of very imaginitive imagery via many forms of media (film, dance, etc) into the productions he works on. I sincerely doubt that Joe can give a complete exposition of the piece he wants auditionees for simply because his productions are often based on collaborative input by the participents. Our own Gordon the Optom was very favourable in his reviews of Renegade's work and particularly so of Stratagem of Interlocking Rings from memory. I have no doubt that the show will push performers to the limits of their comfort zones as Joe is particularly interested in presenting confronting theatre. I could be wrong but I believe he finds traditional theatre a little "safe". I think the actresses of Perth could do worse than audition for one of Renegade's shows and it could be chance to get involved with some very creative and talented people who are doing something a little different to drawing room comedies. Look forward to making it to one of Renegade's shows this year. All the best Joe

Joe's a good guy with really interesting and complex ideas. He's not out to exploit anyone. I would jump at the opportunity if i didn't already have a commitment. Do it!!!!!

Renegade

I have worked with several of the people who form Renegade Productions, including Joe, and I can say that I cannot think of anyone better to work with on a show. Renegade puts on some of the most creative, thought-provoking shows around, and I can definitely recommend to any actresses looking to extend themselves in a more challenging role that these would be the people to do it with.
