Is there any payment for the actors and writers involved?

Mysterious Project

Hello Rebecca, Sounds like a very intriguing project. Although you have indicated that people should contact you to find out more, as Just Wondering suggested, you may save yourself a great deal of time and annoyance by providing more information in your general casting notice. If actors and writers have a clearer idea of the parameters and requirements of your project then your inbox will only be filled with useful, appropriate applicants rather than people having a shot in the dark (and who need to be e-mailled back regardless). Just a thought.... Tulipa.

Thanks Tulipa

As we have no preference on writing styles or actors involved, we do not want to be too specific. We are looking for a plethora of influences in order to make our projects as interesting as possible. If people are keen and take the time to respond then we will divulge into a more indepth explanation, each response will vary in terms of who this person is and where we think they would fit into the project as a whole. Thank you, I see your point. RJ

I think we can take that to

I think we can take that to mean unlikely to be paid...

re: payment

This particular project is unpaid. This project is more of a platform for other projects. A chance to network, collaborate, perform and get your work seen by industry. Any money made on the door will go towards studio hire and advertising. Neither actors, writers, directors, or technical staff will be getting paid for each (once) monthly show. A big thank you to all already involved in the next 3 months. Nick and I will see you at the next workshop or at next weekends screening. There are quite a few castings coming up, the next month is looking very exciting. PLEASE let me know ticket numbers, May is pretty full up. RJ

Are future projects likely

Are future projects likely to be paid work? Or does that depend entirely on the current platform you're trying out with Nick and evidently a very busy schedule.

Hi Walter

As a Fledgling Company, what we're trying to do (and getting there), is create a hub for writers and actors to come together to try stuff out, put on showcases and plays, make short films, pilots etc... and generally have a bit of community where we can meet up, workshop and collaborate on a whole variety of projects. We are currently working on three short films, two ads, various script workshops, a showcase, and some other bits and bobs. There are actors and writers of all ages, styles and levels. Through projects we've been involved in, there are now a few different production companies for the technical side, directors, tech staff...a whole range of people, who want to get together with other people and make things happen. The majority of us have agents, work professionally and usually get paid. If it's a paid job you want, I can't help you..."at this stage". Best Wishes, Rebecca Jo

 I wish! No longer have

I wish! No longer have the pilot's licence though . . . or the money to get it back, even if my doctor would let me.

All the very best for the project anyway. I hope you all do really well with it.

Tim ProsserFri, 12 June 2009, 05:44 pm

Well, apart from a novel

Well, apart from a novel that I really must get around to putting the finishing touches to and finding another publisher for (the first one gave up waiting!) . . . no. That doesn't mean that I won't try my hand at writing a play one of these days.

Johnny Grim might be interested though. I'll talk to him about it.
