FAWLTY TOWERS Script, Is there one?

Just did a search on this site and found a number of links to stage productions of Fawlty Towers. Then I founr this at Samuel French

When it was done at Marloo, it is my understanding that it was on the proviso that the set had be an exact replica of the TV series and that the cast had to resemble the original cast as closely as possible, in order for the rights to be obtained, so if you are planning to try for the rights I would be checking that before going ahead.

They seem to be rather stringent conditions Robert, almost as though the holders of the rights would really prefer not to grant them at all. Would set design drawings be forthcoming if they did deign to release performing rights, I wonder?

Wow! those are some heavy conditions, I recently directed George & Mildred, and am looking for another Brit Com adaptation to do with the amazing cast We assembled, I will have to really look into this one.

I agree with you, but I thought it was only fair to let it be know so the person concerned can make an informed choice, who knows it may even have changed since then, but to be forewarned is forearmed, as they say.
